About me

I have a background in Telecommunications and Biomedical Engineering, nevertheless I am now a Filmmaker: together with my team, we create shortfilms, advertising films, and corporate films, with a focus on change management campaigns. Dutch readers can know more about it on the article over me on HR-Communicatie, others can read what follows ; )

Change Management films? What for?

To create awareness about a project or event, to spread the values of your company to your employees, or simply to build a common and fun culture for your Generation Y employees.

How?

It can be through a short film, a documentary, an internal commercial, a collaborative video with your employees…

Why?

When I was an employee in a large multinational, I noticed how much energy we spent for our External Communications, often neglecting the fact that the people who make the company – us – would like to be motivated by quality content as well. I believe that today it is very important:

  • Generation Y employees are difficult to retain and are asking for something that wasn’t there 10 years ago: a fun company culture. New models are “Google-like companies”, where work has to take place in a fun, collaborative environment. Additionally to this, young employees now have a huge demand for digital content, and share it when they like it. So the investment is worth it, because they will be the resonance box of your new culture: they will spread it to their professional and personal networks, improving your brand image as an employer.
  • How to build a common company culture when your offices are spread all around the world? The digital film format is currently one of the most appropriates. Of course the content has to be of high quality: if not, there is a high chance that employees will skip it. That’s why creativity is now key if you want your communication to be heard among the overflow of digital information an employee receives today!
  • Today, companies have to change fast if they want to stay competitive. But who said it was easy to change the way of working of all your employees? It has been proven that convincing them that they need to change is not enough: you also need to emotionally connect them with your goal. That’s what Dean and Chip Heath have demonstrated. It’s what I help you to do: creating this connection.

Where do I come from?

I am a creative filmmaker who understands business. After my studies in Biomedical Engineering and Telecommunications in two top European Schools – and Film studies in Metropolis Madrid and NFTS London – I worked 3 years for Philips Healthcare as project leader, in the development of MRI scanners. My true passion being filmmaking, I worked hard in the evenings to make creative movies for my department, and their success made possible that I could assist the Global Internal Communications of Philips in communicating to their employees in a fresh, modern and young way.
